WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5, 2026 | Join Sturgis Chief of Police Geody VanDewater on a motorcycle ride through scenic Black Hills highways. Get Rally-ready with the annual 2026 Police Chief's Ride. Police Chief VanDewater will lead riders on a breathtaking ride through some of his favorite places in the Black Hills. The ride will be 3-4 hours with several stops and opportunities to visit with the Chief and other Sturgis officers, past and present, who enjoy the comradery and freedom of riding in the Hills. The ride will end with a luncheon and community social time.

Back at the Jackpine Gypsies facility, riders will tackle the signature TT course featuring right-hand turns, a jump, and an asphalt section — a hybrid layout that demands throttle control and racecraft from the world's elite dirt trackers. Paddock access is included with every ticket. Gates open at 4:30 PM, giving fans time to walk the pits, meet the stars of the sport, grab photos, and get an up-close look at the machines before the racing begins.
Whether it's a family outing or a high-energy night with friends, the experience extends beyond the track: big-screen viewing, vendor displays, and a full spread of food and beverage options throughout the evening. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult ticket.

This ride has been a special par t of the event, not only for the amazing beauty of the Black Hills but that it brings people together from all over the world…and brings them back year after year! Join Heroes Honor Ride as we recognize and celebrate the sacrifice, courage, and service of this year's nominated hero with the presentation of a custom-built motorcycle at the Center of the Nation Monument in Belle Fourche, SD, before embarking on a 40-mile motorcycle ride to the legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip. 14th Annual Veterans Ride Join us for the 14th Annual Veterans Ride, a scenic charity ride through the breathtaking Spearfish Canyon and Vanocker Canyon. Led by American Legion riders and supported by law enforcement at all major intersections, this ride offers a safe and unforgettable way to experience two of the Black Hills’ most iconic routes. This fully sponsored event ensures that 100% of registration fees go directly to supporting Veterans.
